This new category will explore the way innovative smart, digital, experiential (light and sound) or unique engineering solutions in the design of buildings, urban places, and environments can shape and positively impact human experience. This award is for buildings that have been completed between January 2018 and May 2021.
Shortlisted Entries:This new category recognises more specifically those building projects intended for arts & cultural purposes. Building projects can include but are not limited to: museums, theaters, concert halls and art galleries. This award is for buildings that have been completed between January 2018 and May 2021.
Shortlisted Entries:
This new category is designed to recognise upcoming talent from younger generation architects in smaller practices around the world. Entries for this category must be from a newly established architectural practice not older than 5 years. In particular the judges are keen to look at projects by emerging practices who have demonstrated new experimental creative ideas and techniques within their project(s).
To enter this category, practices can submit up to two building projects of any type that have been completed between January 2018 and May 2021.
Shortlisted Entries:The ABB LEAF Best Façade Design & Engineering focuses on façade design. This being one of the most important elements when evaluating the aesthetics of a building, as well as its technical performance. The award will take into account the overall building envelope of the project in context of the building design, genre and façade performance in achieving enclosure of the building between January 2018 and May 2021.
Shortlisted Entries:The ABB LEAF Tall Building Award recognises projects of 75 metres in height or higher. This award is for tall buildings of all functions that have been completed between January 2018 and May 2021.
Shortlisted Entries:The ABB LEAF Best Regenerative Impact Award recognises architecture that has had a transformative, positive effect upon its surrounding community and milieu. Judges are keen to see projects that may have been completed sometime ago but since its completion have acted as a catalyst for regenerating the local area. This award is for projects that have been completed between January 2015 and May 2021.
Shorlisted Entries:The ABB LEAF Mixed Use Building Award recognises projects that blend two or more distinct functions within the building. This award is for buildings that have been completed between January 2018 and May 2021.
Shortlisted Entries:The ABB LEAF Residential Building Award recognises projects that are specifically used for residential purposes, intended for Single Occupancy. This award is for buildings that have been completed between January 2018 and May 2021.
Shortlisted Entries:The ABB LEAF Residential Building Award recognises projects that are specifically used for residential purposes, intended for Multiple Occupancy. This award is for buildings that have been completed between January 2018 and May 2021.
Shortlisted Entries:The ABB LEAF Interior Design Award focuses on Interior Design for either a new-build project or a new refurbishment project completed between January 2018 and May 2021. It can be any type of building.
Shortlisted Entries:The ABB LEAF Commercial Building Award recognises projects that are specifically used for commercial purposes. This can be an office, building/factory, premises/shopping mall/retail park. This award is for buildings that have been completed between January 2018 and May 2021.
Shortlisted Entries:The ABB LEAF Hospitality Building Award celebrates the interior design and structural design of any hospitality building project. Whether it is a hotel, a restaurant, or a bar, it will be assessed on the merits of all design aspects within that project. This award is for buildings that have been completed between January 2018 and May 2021.
Shortlisted Entries:The ABB LEAF Refurbishment Award highlights the best new concept of an existing building. The award encompasses interior design, building use, and creative use of materials and space to highlight change within an exciting building. This award will look at refurbishments completed between January 2018 and May 2021.
Shortlisted Entries:The ABB LEAF Public Building Award recognises projects that are specifically used for public purposes. These can include but are not limited to sports stadia, and healthcare, industrial and educational buildings. This award is for buildings that have been completed between January 2018 and May 2021.
Shortlisted Entries:The ABB LEAF Best Achievement in Environmental Performance Award focuses on design and architectural innovation relating to the durable and efficient use of materials, technology and effective energy consumption in a new or refurbished building. Entries into the Best Achievement in Environmental Performance category should comprise projects that have completed between January 2018 and May 2021. All projects submitted in this category must be submitted with BREEAM, LEED certification evidence or equivalent environmental accreditation and diagrams.
Shortlisted Entries:The ABB LEAF Best Future Building Award celebrates innovative thinking and approaches to design for building projects. Entries into the Best Future Building category should comprise of projects that have been tendered and won, and under construction. *Please provide evidence that the project is currently under construction.
Shortlisted Entries:The ABB LEAF Urban Design Award recognises projects for the design and planning of a group of buildings and/ or public space, including landscape projects within a city, town or village area. These should be completed between January 2018 and May 2021.
